Anyone done this yet? I'm always missing the ODB's I sold (twice). Wondering if the Black Forest would be a better try this time around. Anyone know if the master volumes work similarly?

I've never had the Throbak, though I tried one in a store and it's on my list for "someday".

I do have a Black Forest, and it is totally awesome.

I too would like to compare the two in person, because my memory of the Throbak isn't more detailed than, "Cool! I want one of these someday!"

Bump, I am really interested on this one!
Had a Throbak and sold it...maybe the one and only transaction I truly regret.

I've owned both and still have the Black Forest. I could easily see different players picking one over the other.

    The Black Forest is :
    - ruder/dirtier
    - more flexible in tone shaping and frequency selection

    The Throbak is :
    - purer sounding/cleaner
    - more flexible in shaping the feel of the gain and setting low-medium gain sounds.
