I use flickr.com. Probably also outdated, but it works for now.

    yeah, i'm f****d.

i have all of these pics on my PC as well, but now i've got years and years of forum posts with pics that now make zero sense.

it would take forever to try and go back and fix everything.

Hey Big Jim, if you don't mind my asking, how did you get your albums/photos off Photobucket and onto Imgur? I am in the same boat! Thanks in advance for any help!

Just a heads up imgur is starting to block sites with classifieds so I wouldn't move over to them.

I feel the same way. I frequent TGP and another site and all my pics are gone. So, I took five minutes and set up an Imgur account, downloaded all my Photobucket pics to a file on my PC and uploaded them to Imgur. Took about an hour. I'm not going back to "fix" everything, but I'll attach a pic to any thread when someone requests it. A new era to be sure.

To be honest, I can't remember what I did step-for-step - but I googled the directions and something I read walked me through it.

fortunately i have all my pics on my own PC, there's just no way i know of to "bulk replace" each linked pic in my forum posts with the same pic hosted somewhere else.

i'd have to go searching through my old posts (all too many) to find ones with pics and then individually replace them. (i guess i'll at least go look for pic-heavy how-to threads i've started and fix those...)

My old links are still working... at the moment...

Yup... 'twas fine yesterday AM... now she's dead Jim!

Aha! Turns out the "Direct" link that PB provides doesn't work with Xenforo any longer... and needs to be edited.

Et voilĂ ... PB links still work!

    For now, anyway... ;)

They sent me an email to upgrade (and pay).

    My response was pretty simple:

"F*ck You! Fix your site first."

Luckily I'd batch downloaded all images a few weeks ago.

I've been using photobucket for the last 14 years and now they've taken away the only reason I've ever used them. Time to switch I guess.

it seems strange that they dropped this bomb on everybody, complete with outrageous price tag. if they'd priced their service at a sane rate, y'know like $5-$10 a month, they'd have likely started generating a good amount of money from folks who had lots of stuff on there. i would have grumbled but likely paid.

stunning all its users with a $400 price tag for something that was free before was a guaranteed way to just drive everybody off the site. it's like they don't want to be in business anymore.

Yep if it had been $39.95 they probably would have gotten my business, especially having them for free for many years, I don't know what they were thinking?
