Is there any noticeable tone loss with the Timefactor when put in front of an amp?

I had a timefactor and switched over to a DD-7 and I definitely noticed a difference in my tone. I'm not sure if it was the TF causing tone loss or that the DD-7 has a really good buffer.

I noticed a loss in dynamics, feel, and weight in my dry signal, and found out later that is has AD/DA conversion on your dry signal. It took me about a week of being unhappy with my tone to figure it out. It was very subtle, but there.

Of course, there are a lot of folks who get great tone with Timefactor's and say there's absolutely no change to their dry signal. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. I may just be crazy, super picky, or both.
