Just curious if it is possible to hook my timeline up to my computer by running it through my dmc and running that to my computer? I only ask this because I seem to have lost my midi to usb cable

    Don't think that's possible, no.

check out disaster area's website, I'm pretty sure your supposed to be able to use the DMC controller for updates on both the dmc and timeline/strymon big box pedals.

Yes it is possible! That's how I've updated my Timeline, using my DMC-4 Gen2 because I couldn't find a reliable USB-to-Midi cable (and didn't feel like shelling out for a Midisport UNO).

There is a specific process you have to go through though... I think I recall having to power-on the DMC whilst holding down a footswitch or two.

    Ask Disaster Area.
