What exactly are you wanting to do?

If you want it in the stock non-compressed mode - both dip switches down

Asymetrical - either one up or down

Most compressed - both up

How do you guys use the dipswitches? I like it most stock (both down) and haven't found a use for the other positions. Any Tips??

Me too - I have other OD boxes with compression so having the Timmy set to it's most open setting is a nice balance, especially is you stack them.

I haven't looked inside the Timmy in a while, but I remember the switches being sideways - not up or down. If I hold the pedal vertically the switches go to the left or right. why do people say up or down? or am I not remembering correctly.

so do people mean to the right is down and to the left is up?

You're correct but Paul refers to them as up and down on the instruction sheet...
