This was released today. My son is the guitar player in the band. The real star is Chika she is super talent. I am from NYC and this is a great diversion. Stay safe.

Really like these songs and her delivery. Also, like the fact that she used guitar instead of the standard keys. How did that work out? Doesn’t seem like the norm. Is she from Alabama?

your son does a great job of setting a certain mood on these songs with his playing. Very cool.

Yes she is from Alabama. She’s been on Jimmy Kimmel at 19 and she’s just turned 23. Other than that I don’t know too much about her.

Yes it’s so different. So simple but it really flows. Some how it all works.

    that was cool

she wears her heart on her sleeve

digging that Strat your son has

all the voices sound great together

the first tune i am not much of a fan of that "style" but it was nice work

the 2nd tune was tight and i liked the 4th tune !

Thanks. The guitar he is using I bought used on TGP in December and played it once. He played it once and I never got it back.

    Wow, her delivery is impressive.

    Good band and backup singers.

Not my usual jam,but I watched the whole thing.
Very cool and unique, she is very good at her art,the band does set a great fresh vibe.
The background harmonies are something else on their own.

    Well done !

Was your son involved in the writing process? Just curious how the lyrics come together with the music.

Yes for the arrangement. But she is the star and super talent.
The lyrics, the song is all her. Her EP on Warner came out the same day. On that release there is no guitar and more complex and layered arrangements. Totally different vibe. My son was not involved in that project. Go to Spotify to listen.

They posted a billboard in Times Square to promote the music - the good news. Because of the lockdown there is no one to see it- the bad news

It's so rare to come across a truly original sound these days, but that combination of minimalist R&B with those rich harmonies and hip hop...definitely an original sound I can get behind. Thanks for sharing!
