Uncanny how much his voice sounds like Stevie. Does he do any originals?

It seems that there's a few of them in every populated area in the country ...

Isn't it time to move on?

I just find it rather sad that a so obviously good player and singer finds it easier to live his life through another rather than attempt to express himself. Imagine if Stevie had done the same and become a Jimi/Albert clone!!!.

Tribute bands are a good way to make money playing these days. I don't find it sad that he may be making some kind of a living playing stevies music and doing it very well.

SRV was GREAT, BUT, have a listen, who does he sound like? you mentioned him, ALBERT. Stevie has copped more albert licks than anybody I know. Doesnt make him less of a musician. Everybody has taken something from somebody. Elvis from jackie wilson, bruce from elvis, michael from james, the list goes on and on

More of an impersonation than a tribute even.

He's really good. I'd like to see him use his own voice.

Yes, but showing your influences by someone to outright copying/covering as in the case above is a whole different ballgame. I mean Stevie was influenced by Albert for sure but he put his own stamp on it and he didn't ever wear double breasted suits and play an upside down flying v as far as I am aware although he did smoke a pipe on Live in Japan. :D

Yeah, it's def Luke.

I read on his blog he was sick of TGP ragging on his over-processed tone so he started doing bar bass gigs in a different state for like $100 while he rebuilds his self esteem.
