1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

    King of Tone.

Just did an outdoor gig with the Meteor II 1x12 plus 1x12 ext cab. This is the best amp I'v ever played. Just fabulous. Voicing is PERFECT for the band. Compression is PERFECT. It absolutely ROCKS with and OD pedal......TIM is the one for me.

    Just sayin'......

    Riff,
I am so excited that this amp is working out for you. I am sure that this amp has been getting a much bigger workout with you than it would have ever gotten with me. Keep on Rockin'>

Chuck, thanks a million for the amp. I don't think I've ever played an amp as perfect as this one. Ever.

bluesmann, if your taste and styles are like mine, you will be a happy man!

I just read your post over on the other site. I agree 20000000000%! There is some magic about the voicing of the amp, it is bright but not harsh, and it has a nice full bottom end. Turn up the volume and it compresses ever so slightly to give a big lush sound, but still with some spank. The amp sounds wicked good with a TIM OD pedal. In fact, I leave it on all the time and just use my guitar's volume control to go from clean to scream.

Man, as i posted at music toyz. no clip is going to capture the experence, you have to play it. But there are some clips at Mark Bartels site.
if your looking for that true black faced tone Yeah Buddy! this is it.

My only niggle with the Meteor II is that the preamp tubes are a pain in the A$$ to change. They are hard to reach and because they are mounted to the PCB, it is very difficult to see the socket and get the pins lined up. Maybe I should just leave the tubes alone and play the damn thing! Swapping out and rebiasing the power tubes, OTOH, is a snap! Also, I lifted the chassis to see the goodies inside but couldn't......two chassis 'halves' enclose the innards, and I could see that attempting to open it up might get me in trouble. Maybe better to just ask Mark for some pictures.....

Other than that, I'm luvin' this amp a whole lot!!!!!

I need some $$ for a PA, so two of those amps will have to go...... :(

maybe a better way to look at it is with a 'the glass is 1/2 full' approach ;)
