Any opinion on the differences between the Meteor and Meteor II amps?

I know the Meteor II has the 3 knob reverb and the Meteor had the meters on the back panel to adjust the bias, but that's about it.
I don't think the Meteor was made very long before Mark came out with the Meteor II.
I know that I could contact Mark and get the whole story, but I'd rather hear from the members here their opinions.

    Are there any other differences?

    Tone wise etc.

Cabs are different, reverb is different, and I think there were a couple of other minor circuitry tweaks. The new cabs are amazing: lightweight pine sides, large/thin baffle with tuning ports just above the speaker make for a huge, wide-spectrum, 3-D sound as a 1x12. The new reverb is amazing, too, basically like having a stand-alone 6V6-driven reverb unit on the front end, but it's built-in. Mark is a really bright guy and builds fantastic sounding amps!

The original Meteor had a little sharper sound to me. Almost piercing.

I had the Comet (2x12), Meteor I (1x12) and still have the Meteor II (1 x12). All 40 watt models.

The Meteor I is a great sounding amp but I think the II is a little softer, which I like.

Give Mark a call, he's the expert on these amps. ;)

    Skeeter,

Put a Weber 12A150 in it and you'll love it.
