Tone Knob or Volume Knob forward?

I recently bought a custom guitar that has the Tone Knob mounted forward of the Volume Knob. I basically need to reach back to micro adjust volume on the fly. Which I do often to control feedback (it's a hollowbody). With the tone knob I am use to setting it and forgetting it generally I just keep it at 8 or 9.

Whats your preference? Do you adjust for tone much when when playing?

Trying to decide if I should take it in to have it switched.

Volume gets used a lot.
Tone - set it and forget it.

Presumably, it was not customized for you.
Volume knob gets total precedence for me.

Honestly I think he botched it, but his reply was "I use the Tone way more..."
