As the title said, anyone tried the Black Beauty Cap before? How does it sound?
You mean as a tone cap in a guitar circuit? Any sonic differences between caps of differing dieelectrics in that application are vanishingly small, and non-existent if you have the tone pot on "ten." I wind up using paper in oil, polyethelyne or polypropelene but not ceramic caps in guitars because I tend to have the former around and not the latter.
Now as coupling caps in preamp and amp circuits, yeah, I can hear considerable differences between caps of different dieelectrics. In guitar passive tone circuits, where you're just kind of toggling between the tone of the circuit as loaded by the pot or as loaded by the cap, I don't think it matters much if at all.
