    Feel free to share yours...

10.) I have a $200 pedal that gives me the most glorious Plexi sound I’ve ever heard, yet I keep trying to find an expensive tube amp that will give me the same sound

9.) I’ll play my #1 amp one day and think it is the most amazing amp on the planet, the next day I want to sell it because it sounds like crap

    8.) I trust YouTube clips

7.) I often think to myself - there’s got to be a better amp out there…

6.) My favorite hang out spot on Friday nights is TGP Amps and Cabs

5.) I stare at glowing tubes like a deer in headlights

4.) All my passwords are based on amp names

3.) I’ve played my amp in every room of my house (including garage) and outside at times to see where I can get the best tone (damn wife won’t let me keep it in the sitting room – glorious sound in there)

2.) I encourage my wife to go out for the night so I can blast my gear (I think she may have caught on)

1.) I wanted my son’s middle name to be EL34 and daughter's to be 6L6

Guilty of several of those, including the amp "passwords" LOL :)

    Here's more:

Have one or two great-sounding amps, but need more: one to leave at practice space, another to bring as a backup to gigs, another to build and then modify as an ongoing "project," a high-wattage amp for those loud outdoor gig situations where nothing is miced (i.e. never), a low-wattage amp for those impromptu small coffee house gigs (i.e. never), a 100 watt head and 4x12 stack for when I need to play Madison Square Basement . . . etc.

Wow! This is not good, is it? :eeks
I'm pretty new at this thing.

I've tried many different tubes & speakers & also played in different rooms of the house and in the end it all sounds the same. I bring home a new amp & my wife says "It sounds just like the old one & please keep it down I'm on Facebook".

I think tone is so subjective. I'm learning to just play the damn guitar & not think too much! I spend way too much time trying to find that sound in my head that I probably never will.

#4 -- i have done (and still do that) -- as an IT security guy, i can tell you that they make secure passwords, especially if you include the model name with the numbers and years

#2, yeah it think we've all done that Lol

#9, i think we've all been there too

#10 - just curious, what pedal is that?

Put the amp in the sitting room. Life is too short.

But yes... I am insane too.

I have a first run Dr Z Carmen Ghia, one of the anniversary Marshall JMP Plexi's which is beautiful, and a Brunetti 059 head... And a Cornford Harlequin combo.
    Two Mesa 1x12's, Diezel 4x12 and a Marshall 4x12.
Oh, and an Eleven Rack. And a whole mess of pedals. Most have never been used apart from noodling when I took it out the box.
About 20 guitars. I use 2 or 3 of them. And just the one 95% of the time.

I am not kidding when I say that there is not a guitar sound that I can create and record.

Yet I periodically browse sites like this purposely seeking GAS.

    WTF is wrong with me?!

I see some new awesome brutal metal amp and I really honestly believe I need it. I played in a metal band 10 years ago for 3 weeks. Not since. But in my head I MIGHT one day again soon, and I need to be ready for that. That glorious hi-gain monster of a Brunetti? Need something heavier to complement it.

Pining for a Mark V combo. It would pretty much cover me for most eventualities. With a nice pedal board with a switching system. Just in case. Totally justifies the price tag.

The Kemper Power Rack? Definitely need that. The offers to join tours would come flooding in instantly. Would probably need a nice 2x12 to go with it. And an extra 300 bucks in professional profiles. And the new foot switch that just came out. With a heavy duty small volume pedal. And a nice wah. Fulltone? It would probably look really great with a pro made board. Perhaps one that could slot into a rack for transport? A nice 6u rack case with casters would be good for that. Maybe even have space for a nice wireless system. Definitely going to get the long distance one, as I wouldn't have time to go and get one in case I get 4 hours notice to play Wembley.
Perhaps the PRS Mira would be a better choice for such a setup. They are nice. Leave my number one guitar at home.

ITS JUST ENDLESS. I AM SICK.

For millions of years we hunted and gathered. It's a
deep-seated, primal instinct. Now, instead of Caribou
and Mastodon some of us hunt and gather amps. Others,
like women, do it with shoes.

    It's epi-genetic, man! :aok

... we named our third child Triode. He's no good at track - he runs at half power.

When it comes to GASsing for good tube amps I'm pretty biased.

Ahh man I thought my passwords idea was original!

But here's what I do. My passwords are whatever my current GAS is, cause odds are by the time I need to change my password in a few months, Ill have new GAS on my mind :)
