Just bought some NOS Brimars, and was wondering if and how the amp needs to be rebiased? It's class A, and I was under the impression, that class A amps were self-biasing.

    Thanks,
    Chris

No need to rebias... The Club deluxe is a cathode biased amp. I recently threw in some NOS RCA's in mine... In fact I went back and forth between the RCA's and original EH 6v6's 2-3 times in one night. No problem at all! Enjoy!

"Class A" amps typically aren't really class A, but are always self biasing.

The club series amps are cathode-biased - -no need for a fixed biasing. Just be sure to buy closely matched pairs and plug 'em in!

Thanks for the info! I bought a matched pair form KCA, so I should be good to go.

Awesome! I've got a pair of those in one of my gigging amps. They've been going for over 5 years!

Mike - the NOS (relabeled) Mullard is just awesome... It's actually in my Club Deluxe so I'd highly recommend this in V1 for any Top Hat owner! Just ordered another one a few minutes ago so I hope you have one left! This one was labeled Amperex! The RCA's are very sweet too. Will have to try the Brimmers some day.
