Im having a strat refinished. I have a dark red tortoise shell pick guard and I want to use it for this guitar. What color looks best with a tortoise shell guard? I was thinking maybe Sherwood green. Daphne blue is another option but I already have a daphne blue guitar.

Everything looks good with a tort. pickguard. However, there was recently a thread regarding all things tort. Plenty of opportunities to see your different options in there.

A lot of colors look good with tortoise: black, white, reds, blues and greens. I think it gets too busy to have a tortoise on top of a burst or other "fancy" finish (sparkle, etc.). Here is a tortoise on black that I think looks pretty good:

I don't really like tortoise, but if I was forced to have one I would choose a black guitar.

Natural for me. Everything else seems a little off. Natural and tort have that classic acoustic vibe.
