Is this as nude as it gets???

*Ultra Light Oil finish - for more tone ( Minwax harvest grain yellow stain water based with some stew-mac Vintage Amber dye mixed in to darken.
    Oil fin~ neck too -
*Ash Tray For that added Ash Tray Tone - Callahams Mucho-sturty Bridge and the bigger 3-brass saddles.
*9.5K hand wound pup (mine) microphonic -but not a squealer- wired right out to the jack!
(The pup has mucho-P-90 sound this way and more treble then humans can stand even at 9.5k wire 42 wrap.) So I can turn down the treble all the way off at the amp and rumble the floor and still have cut-- amazing!

Clean looks - no Screw holes for the missing parts.

I got 9 Teles so its time to have a Esquire that makes a statement about pure Tone..
I think this one just may do it-- dunno?

the empty routed holes surprisingly produce sound - sorta like an acoustic guitars sound hole does.. I'm amazed..

I can't wait to go to the jam with this and a cord and a amp!..

what it looks like is how its staying! swear! LOL!

That, my friend, is art. :BEER

I don't think I'll be able to get that out of my mind. Nicely conceived and executed!

You're a brave man to go without a volume knob....now how can you turn it up to 11!? :JAM

    LOL! Great Replys- thanks!
I think I for some reason did not want to load up the pickup is why theres no volume knob, but now I think of it a 1-meg would do that_ right...
anyways besides that I wanted to start forcing myself to control the guitar more without knobs and switching.. I can hit the tuner and silence hum..

but this is the even stranger part -- theres no hum even when loud -- That pup is shielded pretty good by that ashtray and the base plate under the pup. and I intentionally twisted the ground wire "around" the hot wire - like they do in amps. shielding the hot wire. Its a different from method then just twisting the two wires at the same time -- cause you actually rope/loop around the hot wire with the ground and shield it this way --

hey if worse comes to worse I can put a tiny 1-meg Volume pot on a custom made cord like the harp players use. -- I also got one of those cords that when you pull it it shuts off- its got that little pin thing that grounds the cord.

    heheh! too much fun..

The cool thing would be to keep that on the bandstand in case someone wants to "sit in". Just plug it into a cranked amp and watch 'em try to control it.

I'm glad you're getting more tone. I once bought a guitar that had less tone. ;)

I love it...but would love it more without all of the routing. It would look incredible if it was totally stealth!

Definitely the most minimalist approach I have seen. (Or should that be least?) I don't care for the exposed routings, and I'm not sure how I'd play without a volume control...a volume pedal would do it, but that guitar screams for just guitar-cable-amp.

The finish, however, is very cool. It seems sorta blonde, sorta natural, which I like a lot. I'd love to see that in person.

Man, that's gorgeous. I love it.

Don, did you ever take it out to a jam? I'd love to hear the gig report and the reaction that baby got.

It would be even more cool if it were a real non-routed Esquire, rather than a Tele with no front pickup. But I have to admit, it looks cool as is.
