Apparently he has just decided to leave races in the middle of them 3 times now in the past couple years. He sounds like a nutjob.

That's just nuts. He could've totally dominated in the time trial. Plus, isn't he under contracts, etc.? Can't imagine pulling these kinds of impulsive stunts.

Correct. Landa was poised to go to UAE, Viviani to Cofidis (with his lead out man Richeze), Nibali to Trek, Carapaz to Ineos. Supposedly Landa might backtrack since Carapaz and Quintana are leaving because he just wants to be THE GC man on a team.

He has always been a difficult rider, but in general the Merida TT bike isn't the most aero in the bunch, his wheel options weren't the fastest, the skinsuits were not very nice, Rudy helmets are aero turds, etc. The guy is a world class TT engine and so he actually was able to get his BMC TT setup and CdA numbers and went to the tunnel 3 or 4 times with Bahrain. He never could get his CdA close. He was something like 40 watts slower on that bike.

He was scheduled 2 days of racing in the Ardennes and management changed that to Basque country so after the first two stages he up and left, feeling as though his commitments were satisfied with the team.

The team didn't handle him well, he doesn't handle things well and the equipment sucks (relatively).

I suppose Dennis is the Axl Rose of the cycling world.

I'm all for being particular about stuff. I spend my life doing it.
I do wonder though, if he's really that demanding about his equipment why he didn't ask the relevant questions before he signed and if he did then why did he sign?

That is great. Everyone should give it a watch. Obree vs Boardman was an amazing time.

Agreed. Its widely known by TTers whether they've been to the tunnel or not that those helmets and skin suits suck.

Definitely not the same without Paul. Listening to Bob talk about the Chateaus is pretty funny. This has been a great tour. Christian and Chris going at it is pretty entertaining. Trying to predict when JA will blow up. We finally saw his first crack yesterday. I expect we'll see more in the Alps. Missing Cav. Feel sorry for TeeJay. I read 1 article that Rohan suffers from depression and is on the verge of giving up racing.

Not sure if this link will work for you if you're not on Twitter. Anyway, it's Daniel Oss doing a hilarious spot-on impersonation of Peter Sagan (his teammate):

I had high hopes for NQ but at the tour he has been a disappointment from the start.
