    Would you? Why/why not?
I love my Maverick but I’m just not playing it a lot lately. Is it even a fair trade?

Value wise it’s not far off but Deluxe Reverb reissues are a hell of a hell of a lot easier to obtain than a Maverick. One of the best amps Mesa ever made. I’d keep the Maverick.

I ended up keeping the Maverick. Solid advice thank you. I went down and played it for a while and just fell in love with it I decided I couldn’t live without it.

Miss my Maverick. I had the small 1x12 and it was a tone monster.

What speaker did the 1x12 use?

The 2x12 i have uses the v30.. pretty agressive speaker for a bright amp.

My 1x12 had a Black Shadow in it.

So does mine. I tried a V30 in it - the Black Shadow sounded much better.

I had a Mesa 2x12 cab with v30s in it at the same time I had the maverick. The black shadow was easily the superior speaker for that amp, but when I got to use the extension cab at a gig, it sounded HUGE. I really wish I would have kept that amp. Those 1x12 combos are hard to find.

I had a 112 that was fun but hissed like crazy on both channels. I now have a 212 that I really like but it’s really REALLY heavy.

Yes.. its a very present, bright amp with lots of upper mids and lacking in bass.

Just on that the MC90s are the more obvious fit. These v30s sure cut and sing in a live situation but virtually unuseable as a home rig.

I saw a Maverick go through our local trading with a pair of Eminence Legends .. wondered how that sounded... ought to have checked it out just for recon.

When I heard demos of the Jensen Raptor my immediate thought was how great theyd sound in a Mav.

Yes, smart to keep the Maverick. Past owner of a 2-12 and head.
