I'm looking to put together a parts caster - tele body, but with a Strat trem. I'd like to mimic a Music Man Axis in concept, so my neck will be: 1 5/8 nut, 2 3/16 (standard strat) heel, and 25.5 length. My question is that I'm not sure what to look for as far as the trem goes - meaning do I need one with certain spacing? What should I make sure it has for this spec? I don't care for vintage style 6 screw I prefer the 2 post modern.

Would like to go with either Fender or Gotoh. Links would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

The Gotoh 510 TS with bent steel strat saddles is the best modern two post and currently fitted as standard on many high end guitars ( Suhr,Tyler ect)

Watch the string spacing. Otherwise you may have high E string "roll off". I prefer the 2.06 spacing ... often MIM. Not sure in the non vintage what would do that though. I have a new fender 2 post bridge assy I'm not using I can measure.

I'm in the middle of a build with similar neck specs. I chose a trem with vintage screw spacing , but with the same string spacing as a MIM strat. I prefer that over the wider vintage spacings.

I got a Wudtone trem. I believe Callaham have MIM-spaced trems as well.
