    This is my latest project.......

    It's a JP/SAP Hiwatt preamp mated to a DR504 output section, with 4 JJ6v6's instead of EL34s. It's gonna get a 1/2 power switch as well.....

The cab is a one off custom 2-12 built by Jeff Swanson......

    Could you build a 4x6V6?

I'd be all over that in a second.

I finally got this thing done and working..... Great sounding amp. I still prefer the standard DR504 overall, but this thing does the crunchy, Marshally stuff really well....

I had a pair of Swanson OEM Fanes in it, but it currently has a pair of Weber Thames in it.

I am not sure I am gonna keep this amp in this cab. I want to use this cab for my main gigging amp, so I'll probably put my DR504 clone in this cab....

I got the neat Hiwatt footswitch off the bay for $20......

I ended up going with the standard DR504 power section (2 EL34s) for now. I also put a switch in so I can use either the choke or the standard 100R screen resistor (that the choke replaces). The choke noticeably softens the attack, which I am not sure I really like. It definitely does the Pagey thing in spades when plugged into my celestion cab.

I am really digging this thing with Celestions!

G12H30/V30..... Really comes alive with this preamp.

It still needs a little tidying up after troubleshooting a bonehead mistake......

    Nice handy little combo!
