Trouble getting Winged C el-34's

    That's what I got. I'm curious as I've heard the JJ's have a big mid hump to them.

    I recommend them over the jj's as well.

    I like the new sensor "mullkards even better"

    They are charging an arm and a leg for those Mullards. I had heard they were just a rebrand...

    Crap mike,
    I forgot all about you! I tell you what. Having a kid certainly seems to have taken all of the common sense out of my brain!

    Well,
    I'll use the JJ as a test quad until I'm sure I've solved the problem that blew the last OT. then I may go for some better tubes like NOS.

    BTW,
    do the Siemens REALLY have to be kept in an amp with a B+ of 450 or lower?

    Good idea on the "test tubes". Don't put new tubes in a questionable amp.

    The 450 warning on the Siemens tubes seems to be very conservative. There was a thread a while back on GP where there must've been 20 guys who said they'd used these tubes in amps with much higher (some 500+) plate volts than 450.
