Anybody else having difficulty getting Winged C el-34's?
Go to Ebay, they are all over the place.
Would strongly recommend JJ instead...
Hi Vintage John,
That's what I got. I'm curious as I've heard the JJ's have a big mid hump to them.
Trouble? Try here. http://kcanostubes.com/content/estore_details.asp?product=193
I HIGHLY recommend these over JJs.
Doug's Tubes should have them.
I recommend them over the jj's as well.
I like the new sensor "mullkards even better"
They are charging an arm and a leg for those Mullards. I had heard they were just a rebrand...
I forgot all about you! I tell you what. Having a kid certainly seems to have taken all of the common sense out of my brain!
I'll use the JJ as a test quad until I'm sure I've solved the problem that blew the last OT. then I may go for some better tubes like NOS.
do the Siemens REALLY have to be kept in an amp with a B+ of 450 or lower?
Good idea on the "test tubes". Don't put new tubes in a questionable amp.
The 450 warning on the Siemens tubes seems to be very conservative. There was a thread a while back on GP where there must've been 20 guys who said they'd used these tubes in amps with much higher (some 500+) plate volts than 450.
