The truss rod nut on my 80's Burny LP Jr. is backed off to where I could turn it without much effort. The neck has just a tad of relief, not much at all. SHould I be concerned or should I at least at least snug it up just a little? If it does get to where I want some relief what would I do?

    Thanks

Snug it up or it will rattle. Wait for awhile to see where the neck settles, then readjust if necessary.

If there is no tension on the nut/rod and you still want more relief, stringing it with heavier strings or even tightening the strings that are on it and leaving it for awhile might get you there, but if you then go back to your normal tension strings, it may go back over time.
