    i've been going through their manual, installed all the drivers, have a usb mic plugged in. and nothing is muted.

    i can see the sound waves, but i can't hear anything on playback?

    i can hear youtubes/song files, but i just can't figure out why nothing is coming from the sample i recorded.

    any advice?

    If you don't get an answer here, try posting on the Reaper forum:

    Lots of very knowledgeable posters there.

    In reapers preferences you must select your audio output. I think it's under devices.

    thanks! immediately after posting this, my wife had errands and whatnots for me to run, so i just got back to it now.

    i figure it's something terribly simple that i'm just overlooking. i'll check the reaper forums, thanks for that link 5992!

    Options->Preferences->Audio Device->enable Output range

    For audio system, I use ASIO

    i'm using ASIO and downloaded the drivers they suggest. I have input enabled to the mic, but there's no box to enable output. it does show DOCK HpOut1 and DOCK HpOut2 in the output range fields, though...

    Hit record button to ready track -it will blink. As others have suggested, turn track monitoring on.

    Are you doing playback through your computer or some other USB interface? I'm using Reaper and pC or MAudio output...check the preferences to make sure you're using the correct output device...
