Trying to purchase a Suhr from Australia

I have been in contact with a store in the US (Georgia) called Humbucker Music that has the exact guitar I want in stock.

I am hesitant going ahead with this because I was told that they do not allow purchases via Paypal or via their eBay site, meaning I have no "protection" as a buyer. Their exact words were "At the moment the only form of payment that we are able to process from outside the US is bank wire transfer".

Has anyone here had any experience with Humbucker Music ? ...would you recommend them ?

They are legit. I had a small disagreement on a restock return once, but it was fairly minor.

Email John at Suhr directly for other ideas.

I've bought lots of gear (and other things) over the years using wire transfers. If it was the "exact" guitar I wanted, I wouldn't be afraid to do it- especially with a reputable dealer like Humbucker.

Yes I recommend them !
Great dealer and good people, In fact he just won an award last night at our NAMM show. He also stood by us when we had some issues with a larger company trying to bounce us out of his store. Jake is the man !
I also recommend dealing with the dealer in your local whenever possible. Please read our warranty information carefully so you understand the advantages to purchasing in your country.

I am in Atlanta and have been to their store multiple times. It a little bit of a drive, but it is worth it. They are for real so no worries buying from them. Good luck.

Yeah I tried to buy a cab from them about 6 months ago and had a few issues the main one being that they wouldn't accept payal, it really is silly in this day and age, a bank wire transfer without any protection, I wouldn't do it with an $800 cab and definitely not with a $4000 Suhr.

Happy Australia Day!!

I've wired funds from Australia to another Suhr dealer (Guitar Asylum NY) for the 10th anniversary Modern when it was released. They were great to deal with and no problems at all. It is a wonderful guitar.
I would have supported an Aussie dealer, as John suggests, but they wanted $8000 for it.
I've also got a Suhr Classic that I bought from a well known Oz dealer and it cost me $6000. That was 2007, don't know the pricing in Australia today. It is also a fantastic sounding guitar. I have been playing both of them through my SL68 today. Awesome. Can't imagine wanting to get rid of any of my Suhr gear. Great stuff.

I was going to buy a Z Wreck from Humbucker a few months back but decided to buy a house.
They sound reputable from everything I have heard. I was prepared to wire money for the Wreck.
They ship everywhere and there's a clip showing how they pack their gear for freight.
I am keen to hear how it goes for you.

Weird, I'm in Canada and they accepted Paypal.

I have been corresponding with the store for over a week now, they were adamant that there was no possibility for Paypal - reason given below.

"In order to be in compliance with Paypal's seller policies is to only ship items to addresses that are confirmed with Paypal. The problem is Paypal only confirms addresses in the US, Canada and UK at the moment. I wish there was a work around, however we just are not able to ship an item to an unconfirmed address."
