TS-808 Circuit Trouble

    Hi everyone,

    Just wondering if anyone could tell me what part it is that has fried on the board of my friends TS-808 (pointing to it), I have next to no knowledge of electronics, except I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron.

    He fed it 12V AC I believe.

    That would be a diode. You can find a replacement at Radioshack or the like. 1N4001 will do, or anything 1N400x really

    No problem. Be sure to orient the silver stripe the same way when you replace it.

    that diode is there specifically to burn up (as it did) to protect the circuit from damage when used with an incorrect power supply. It died honorably in service.
