12AX7 Looks like a typical Philips construction halo getter 4 seam top. (sorry pics cant be posted) However, the tube code is something I am not familiar with. Etched in the usual location for a philips tube is:
    70
    E2

Then in red date code 3-11-71

Pulling out an old Philips Tube Code list I see a 7 as Philips Eindhoven( radio valve lab physics grou) Hitachi Japan.
E as Hyperlec Brive (Correza) Spain
    2 Philips Eindhoven
    Nothing for the 0

Anyone got anything for me on this one?

Doesn't seem like the usual Philips code format.

    Got some photos?

Consistent with Bharat Electronics (BEL), made in India.

Confirm that the two round (not rectangular) holes on either side of the raised portion of each plate go all the way through, i.e., can see the holes looking from the other side of the plate as well, unlike Philips. Even if the holes don't go through, though, I still think it's BEL.

Jeff West with the WIN! thanks Jeff. I think in my entire stash this is the first and only Indian Made tube I have. Very cool
