Does such a head exist. We all know that Fender drive channels suck, whilst clean tones can be simply stunning. The sort of head Im referring to wouldnt have a dedicated drive chanel , but when you plug straight into it, you are rewarded with THE most chiming and bell like cleans, infact, the head was designed for clean playing.

In your opinion, does such a Head exist ?

+1 on a Twin or Showman (basically a Twin, minus the reverb, in a head format). They'll still crunch up if you crank them up - but, they have A LOT of headroom.

They already make such a head. It's called an OD-100, get it with the 5881's instead of EL-34's the clean is ****ing amazing.

And as a free bonus you get a crunch channel that kills.

Play through an orig Hiwatt (Hylight) DR103 and you'll be amazed---- i've recommended the 100 watt Hiwatt because the OP stated that he wanted Chiming, Bell-like cleans and this describes the Hiwatt tone exactly.
My BF Showman is a great sounding amp with great clean tone but it's a different flavor than the Hiwatt....................gldtp99

I'm pretty sure VVT now makes the Fralin amp as a head. That's specifically designed for cleans - never played one but the sound clips sound nice.

Hylight era DR103 or a Reeves Custom 50 or 100 if you need to buy new.

Showman and TopHat Ambassador. Hiwatts are really clean too. All three 3 are different flavors though. But all are VERY clean.

    Ha ! I've got all 3 of those amps.:BEER

My Showman might be optimised for cleans, but I'll give the edge to
my Hiwatt as far as bell-like and chiming cleans, go .

I had an old BF Dual Showman. That thing had killer cleans. If you're a Fender clean type of guy this may be a good option.

I bought a VVT Fralin head especially for cleans for when I play in a funk band. I love it - prefer it to my Cowtipper (combo). Mine has a fixed/cathode bias switch and an upgraded Bassman OT for a little more clean headroom. Of course at 35 watts it's not as clean/loud as a Twin Reverb but with an efficient speaker I only have to run the volume pot on 2 or 3 and the drummer is pretty loud.
