Tube pic - is this normal?

Looking at the TAD 6L6WGC in my Carr Rambler and noticed these silver circles. Is this what TAD describes as a dual side getter? Is the white halo normal?

More like a grey halo around the silver...not white.

Yeah, that's gray, not white. Most often seen in well used tubes but the whole gettering flash thing is somewhat random, they don't all appear alike even in new tubes.

Testing the tube or, at least, checking it's bias reading is the way to be sure. Even perfect looking tubes can be blown or on their way out.

Ok thanks. I was going to get it looked over anyway as it's a recent acquisition. Sounds great though.

As long as the getter flash doesn't turn white, you're in business. When a tube dies a fiery death or breaks, you'll see it turn white as a result of the tube losing vacuum.
