The 35th Anniversary Tube Screamer caused a lot of excitement on this board when it was released. I decided to check the usual suspects (amazon, MF) for reviews and found none.

What happened with this greatly anticipated pedal? Why it failed so miserably (at least based on the number of reviews)? Was it the flying fingers graphic?

It's a reissue of an earlier revision of the 808 that wasn't around for very long. The only real difference between the 35th Anniversary version and the regular 808 reissue is that the 35th uses a dual op-amp for the input and output buffers, while the regular one has individual transistors for each buffer. Cool for collectors, but not worth the price tag for someone who just wants a TS on their board.

wasn't even aware of these; thanks.
    colour me interested.

for those who've tried 'em, how does this little sucker compare to the hand wired fugly mofos they're charging much more for? only interested in a sonic comparison.
