Anyone ever swap out 6v6 for 6k6 tubes in a DR? Is this even advisable?

I'm interested in hearing the difference, tonally speaking, if it's worth the effort and doesn't harm the amp (or the 6k6s). I recognize I'd get less output using 6k6s. What else would I need to do to optimize the tone, re-bias?

    Thanks

you will fry the sh*t out of those 6K6 tubes. The 6V6s are being pushed to their limits as it is.

A long time ago, I tried this after some bad advice. Nice light show, some flames and smoke. After a new PT, it was almost good as new again. Not recommended...buy a Champ or a Princeton.

If your looking for a bit of a tonal difference, find a set of RCA 7408's. These sound great in the blackface deluxe reverb circut and in most amps using 6V6's.
