What is it about the sight of a glowing set of tubes that makes our hearts skip a beat? Really!
I think it's really cool to imagine all those little electrons leaping across the cathode as I play.
My friends think I'm crazy, by the way.
The swelling blue glow in the tubes as you play loudly reminds you:
Tone is in the plasma!
It brings out the '50s sci-fi mad scientist in me. Something about those cheesy Hollywood Nikola Tesla wannabes that's very appealing. I can't help but be drawn towards the little magic lightning bottles. Must be a side-effect of testosterone.
You guys are scaring me.
I find it interesting that guitar amps are about the only technology platform on the planet that makes use of vacuum tubes.
Man, talk about the dark ages! Oh wait ... those things DO light up, don't they!
In all my years, thinking about tubes never gave me wood, bubes on the other hand......
Vacuum bubes? Must be responsible for that sweeet top-end.
gotta have a matched pair.
I'm picturing a Woody Allen "Everythng You Always Wanted to Know..." type scenario with electrons lining up in their neon blue spandex outfits...
Now, what would old Sigmund say ?
- It's tube's fallic shape:NUTS
Hi-end audio seems to still have a fair amount of tube use, so we're not alone!!
