1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Would you all put these pedals in sort of the tubescreamer vein, especially since we can swap op amps?

I'll bite. Being able to swap opamps does not put something in the TS vein because the ts pedals didn't have sockets - you couldn't swap opamps in one...

I'll agree with you though - :horse

I guess I was thinking we could get there in tone (sorta) if we get 4558 chips in these things.....

The Timmy sounds nothing like a TS.

There are more to the TS style pedals than their opamp.
Actually by changing coupling capacitors and playing with the RC filter pair will get almost any TS style pedal to sound just right for you.

They're all using opamps, and they all have diode clippers (or mosfets used in the same way) in the feedback loop. But, you can get a lot of different sounds with that formula, and it certainly isn't unique to the TS.
