I have a Tung-Sol 6SN7-GTB, made in USA that my neighbor gave me in an effort to 'help' out. I can't find any reference to this tube being suitable for guitar amp use. It has a # on the base - 322HZ3. Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks

Cool tube. It's an octal pre-amp tube used in some 50's vintage guitar amps. I just picked up a '54 Alamo Model 3 that uses the 6SN7.

If you can't use it, PM me, I could always use a spare!

The Tung Sol round plate 6sn7's are highly sought after in the audio world. I have a few and they are definitely a nice sounding tube.

A lot of pre-1950 amplifiers used 6SN7's. Great tubes, essentially an octal version of a 12AX7.

Gain wise its more along the lines of a 12AU7. The 6SL7 is equivalent to a 12AX7 in gain.
