Hi, I have a Silvertone 1457 (amp in case model with 2 p/u) that I wanna convert to a sitar. I don't want to make any crazy modifications so i was just wondering if anybody knows of a good lipstick bridge pickup that sounds like a sitar?

Also, if i just buy this one pickup, would it be enough to make the guitar sound like a sitar or will i need to make any other modifications?

    Thanks a lot

You'll need a different bridge, not a new pickup. The bridge you'll need is available from danelectro.

If i put on this bridge, will it effect the "normal dano" sound of the neck pickup?

The pickup has nothing to do with the sitar sound. It's the bridge. The strings lay across the wood bridge and vibrate against it causing the sitar twang.
Look at the Jerry Jones website for pics of his improved sitar gtr and note the bridge.

Why Danelectro never reissued a cheap version of this is beyond me. The Jerry Jones ones are way too expensive for an instrument you'll only play once in a while.
