    ...It worked out great!

Below is my new 5F11 "Vibrolush" from Modern Sound Amplifiers. I posted a couple weeks ago on here looking for recommendations on such an amp, and got contacted by forum member Coldengray. He builds amps in his spare time and does a great job of it.

It's way nicer than I expected... visually it's incredible and the sound is pretty on par with the originals but I think overall a tad warmer and more balanced.

Here's the specs, per his website:
    • Vintage style chrome plated steel chassis with 3 inputs
    • 5F11 board made from G10/FR4 electrical grade fiberglass
    • Jupiter Yellow vintage style capacitors
    • F&T or Sprague electrolytics
    • 22g cloth covered wire, 18g heaters
    • Carbon comp resistors
    • Carling switches
    • CTS pots
    • NOS tube sockets
    • Switchcraft jacks
    • Purple indicator light
    • Speaker hookup
    • Mercury Magnetics transformers
    • Modern Sounds "Vibrolush" logo
    • JJ 12AX7s, Tung-Sol 6V6s and NOS RCA 5Y3GT rectifier
    • Tweed 1x10 cabinet made to my specifications: knot free pine, amber tinted lacquer, leather handle, metal glides
I am not at all good at doing gear demos, but you can hear it here...

Many thanks to Coldengray for doing awesome work and not stealing my money and shipping me a box of fish heads or something like that.

Congrats on a beauty! The 5F11 is a GREAT circuit and I love the way the tremolo sounds on these. Mine has become my favorite grab & go small combo.

    Enjoy your N.A.D.!!!

Congratulations on a great amp! I liked your demo vid too!

I don't know if it's your first tweed, but you probably know the old saying: "Once you know tweed, it's all you need!"

    Have fun!

You should send him an email saying it doesn't work and you want your money back. Haha. ;)

The STR Trem is a great amp, I owned one for a while. GAS got the better of me and I sold it.

The Vibrolux is a Harvard with added vibe - a wonderful circuit with more clean headroom than a 5E3 but plenty of delicious Tweed breakup.
