Disclaimer: I prefer a Tele or SG straight into a Princeton Reverb or a jumped Tweed Deluxe.

But to widen your sound scope a little for gigging covers what small handful (4-5) of various effects do you like best with a good Tweed Deluxe?

    Reverb?
    Delay? Analog vs digital?
    Trem?
    Boost, OD, or Fuzz?
    Others?

With my tweed style amp (Fargen Townhouse 5w), I like using the Timmy OD to get a little extra hair, especially at lower volumes. The Timmy is nice and transparent so it lets the tweed tone shine through. I'm also always using my Subdecay Super Spring Theory Reverb and the Source Audio Vertigo Tremolo with that setup.

Fuzz/Overdrive when stuck doing lower volume gigs. (Tim, DLS and the BOG FF have been my favorites so far)

Reverb, just because. (Topanga gets me the WCB tone)

Slaback delay because it's juicy! (Been using a Carbon Copy for years now)

Tremolo because I love tremolo. (Alexander Equilibrium is my go to here)

Wah, to get down and funky. (BBE Ben has been a sturdy partner for a long time)

Univibe... because it's Univibe! (Shaky Jimi, does it well for a great price!)

And a lot of the time I run no pedals..... Although, if anything the Topanga will be on more than any of the others combined.

I'm officially old, lol. I have no idea what that means. Nothing comes up on Google but food sites.

Simplest happy chain I used with 5e3 is a Rat into a Flint. Any delay for fun.
Timmy, Prince of Tone, and Fuzz Face were all very effective drive.
Xotic AC and Tubescreamers were not as great for me. Surprisingly, the Keeley Red Dirt was a keeper. EQD Speaker Cranker also a nice surprise.

Its an old term from Southern music, players would play the blues, drink cheap wine and then eat fried chicken. Thats what Axis29 is referring to. His Wine Crusted Buttocks tone is brilliant. Check him out!

Rat. All other shades of dirt can be achieved with a twist of the volume knob.

Others that I have used in the past with good results were OCD, clean boosts, empress trem and ehx polyphase.

I run mine fairly well cranked so delay and reverb are not so great.

That's one I've never heard during my 50 years of living, listening, and playing music in the Deep South.

Yeah, I'm hoping to set up an ABY pedal so I can have a relatively clean tone with a little 3D space added and then switch to a dry, creamy natural overdrive option.

My approach to the 5e3 and pedals is to add vintage style effects that the amp lacks. Catalinbread Topanga spring reverb and Monster Effects Swamp Thang for vintage bias tremolo sound.

However I also use the Catalinbread Belle Epoch for tape delay and the Rockett Blue Note for very amp like break up at low volumes.

I have done a lot of experimenting with my 5e3 (Clark Beaufort) and pedals, and I also tend to just go with vintage sounds for pairing. I use a Bad Bob boost, Empress Trem, and WET reverb with mine. I haven't found a fuzz that I really love paired with the amp. There are a few other od's that work pretty well - Barber LTD SR or 1/2 Gainer, Timmy, Greer Tone Smuggler. I don't like any other modulation effects like phaser or chorus, or even wah with the 5e3. It kills with my R8 with PAF style Wolfetone Legends and my Reverend with Fralin P90's for slide. I have found it is best to keep it really simple with the tweed Deluxe and save the toys for my cleaner amps.
