Two Rock Sensor 35 preamp tubes

I just recently bought a sensor 35 watt (6l6) and I found the distortion channel not smooth / bluesy enough. Any experience with two rock & changing tubes here?

Doesn't the Sensor have internal EQ adjustments for the overdrive channel?
I played a 22 and thought I could get smooth enough overdrive with it by
adjusting the contour control and was told there is a trimmer or 2 dedicated
to the lead channel post overdrive I think. Contact Two Rock and see what
they say. I thought the Sensor 22 sounded great but currently out of my
price range.
