I am strongly jonesing for a Tyler custom order
    • hazmat smear
    • white pearloid pg
    • HSS, midboost classic or SE
    • rosewood board with alder body
There are no Tyler dealers near me.I called Tyler and they want 50% down and the prices I was quoted appear to be a tadhigher than I would expect from a dealer. I may be wrong (not the first ime it's happened).

Would anybody care to recommned a customer-friendly reliable, non-flakey dealer?

Seems like most of the dealers Tyler has is pretty reputable, they only have just a few. Martin's Music http://www.martinmusicguitar.com/ in Memphis/Cordova TN is the only one I have dealt with, but all have been around for a good while. Indoor Storm and Wildwood are both stores with good reputations.

As far as price goes, about 10% off of list is what to expect. I don't know it for a fact, but I don't think Tyler does business like most companies do business. I believe the dealer cost is 20% below the list price and they're allowed to knock off 10%.

If/when you get one I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine!:)

    Thanks for the input.

I called them three times in 36 hours and left a message to speak to the person that orders their Tylers. He never called back. F' them.

That coud work but I called on Thursday and Friday. Thurs he was busy. Friday they said he was in a meeting and would call back.

So if I order with them and then have a question later on, I assume I would get the same treatment.

This is not typical. They are a small store with nice gear, so they just may be too busy. I'm not making excuses for them, but when it comes to stuff like Tyler's your options get slim and they have nice inventory and have been really pleasant when I have visited or called. It's your call, but I would bet when you do reach them you will find them helpful.

I just ordered a Tyler from them that was very custom and they were awesome. I've purchased Diezels from them and they are equally great to work with.

Thanks guys. I've some pretty decent email with Yanneth directly at Tyler so I may go
direct from the shop itself to score something like this. Tyler says, to their knowledge,
there are no dealers with a hazmat in stock:

    That's my buddy's guitar!!

He bought it new from Martin's Music, I got mine used from Mark Kane here on TGP. The serial # on that guitar is 5119 and mine is 5118. It kind of freaked me out that they would end up within 25 miles of each other.:dude

One advantage of buying from a good dealer is that in the event you don't like the guitar you should be able to return it. Even though that is unlikely with a Tyler.:)

    Stratofied,

You are likely correct on BOTH points. :)
