I've put a deposit on a dealer order and not sure on the pickguard that's been spec'd. Thinking of going with white pearl. Color is Capuccino Schmear. Thoughts...

I like black better. The white pearl will clash with the warm tones of the finish. Enjoy your new Tyler!

Mmmmmmmmmm. That is awesome. Hey, you should ask gainiac about a pickguard, cause he had an amazing one made for his SE that would also look killer on yours.

Another fan of the black guard.

Congrats on the order. I didn't realize he was taking orders through dealers again. Either way, having a Tyler (or a few) is a must for me.

Already on order by the dealer, just no takers yet, so I jumped on it...

If the choice has to be black or white pearl, then black is much better. You might ask Jim about the real wood veneer options. That could go well with th Cap shmear. He has a bunch of wood veneers in stock. Several birdseye maple, and others (Italian ebony, mahogany, quilted maple, walnut? can't remember them all.) I'd recommend something that's not too wild so it doesn't detract from the shmear. That way the overall appearance is not too busy. Maybe something simple with a tight grain.

My black SE will have either a redwood burl or a bubinga waterfall pickguard.

Congrats on the shmear color; the caramel / cappuccino shmear is fantastic. I've seen one in person. I love the glossy version especially.

Wow, that's a nice one! It'll look awesome no matter what pickguard it'll sport but I do like the black on it.
