    Hi,

Talked to the guys at Line 6 at NAMM and they gave me a press release saying:

"Downloadable for free on line6.com, JTV firmware v1.8 for the James Tyler Variax series features spectacular updates to the guitar’s five acoustic models and enhanced functionality when the guitar is connected to a POD HD500 or POD HD Pro multi-effect processor.

Benefitting from new breakthrough acoustic guitar modeling technology developed by Line 6, the updated models offer breathtaking depth and detail. Capturing the subtle nuances of string vibration through the soundboard and the tone woods of the guitar body, the models provide an unparalleled acoustic guitar playing experience. The updated models are based on* the Martin® D28, Martin® D12-28, Martin® 0-18, Guild® 12 String, and Gibson® J200 acoustic guitars."

Didn't get to try nor hear but on paper it sounds promising. The enthusiasm from the developers seemed genuine so this will be interesting to follow.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Old news, my friend.

    It was announced at NAMM.

Did you hear that it's actually available yet, though? THAT would be news.

I'm hoping that they release this along with the HD series V 2.0 (that fixes the squeal of death!)... I suspect that is why it is not out yet, mainly for integration with the HD series...

Perhaps they will als add a Nylon simulation (PLEASE)...Hint Hint....Bribe?

    I have a JTV-69K and HD500/Pod HD/DT-50... so I'm vested..

FULLY vested I'd say. I only have two-thirds of it, but have, most likely, no interest in a "real" tube amp anymore. So I'm as vested as I'm gonna be.

    Paging hippietim:

He posted that 11-15 two days before the release when no one not even vettaville knew that.

    Hi Pietro,

I'm quoting the press release I got on 2012-01-19:
"The new firmware updates are available now at line6.com"

    That's all folks!
