They're not always workable, but just once I've always wanted to be in a band with a guy with a Hammond B3 and a Leslie, Allman style...yes I know they're a bear to move..., and a R&B horn band...Edgar Winter's White Trash style...

i wish i was in Porcupine Tree like my friend Wes -- but at least I am lucky enough to live vicariously through him, since he's playing with my favorite modern rock band!

Would love to be in an 80's hair metal cover band. I grew up on the stuff but didn't start playing until I was 27 years old. Never had a chance to wail on Ratt, Poison, Faster *****cat and all the stuff I loved back then.

I'd love to be in a Los Lobos style of band (even though I'm not hispanic). The freedom and ability to play almost any style of music is very appealing.

Ditto. There are some great 80's tribute bands doing well (in certain markets)
It's not too late. Get a wig, some spandex and knock off about 50 lbs.

I've played so much roots/blues/rock/folk/country/swing, etc, etc that I'd LOVE to hook up with an excellent, real-deal Funk band at this point.

I get sick of everything after a while. Sometimes I wish I was in Cheap Trick and sometimes I wish I was in Planet X.

I would like to be a band with a good female vocalist, like Leah Siegel or Norah Jones. Only if I could play like Frisell or Scofield. lol

Sonic's Rendezvous Band reunion or DKT/MC5 would work fine, thanks.

One that played some type of music that people were willing to pay to listen to.

I could be very happy in Dylans backing band until he retires.

Big R&b Soul review band with a five piece horn section. The economics just don't work out though. For less than $100.00 I stay home and watch the tube. I gig 3 to 5 nights a week.

Hammonds!...I was just now talking about Hammond bands on another forum. I used to love hearing these guys and other Hammond R&B groups at '60s teen dances in the Pacific NW.

Here's a clip on a PNW band page. Check out the Leslie kicking in after the 1st intro.

The closest I can think of is Gov't Mule: In other words, a three-piece, hard-rock jam band.

I'd love to be in a band like the Trucks Tedeschi Band or a big R & B funky group like Tower of Power.

one night we had a sick funk/soul/blues/r&b power trio come on after us one night... and we all sat there like... damn... that looks like fun....

i'd also love to play in a beatles tribute band... too bad there are only a few songs i've ever really learned from start to finish.

and some of those country bands look like fun too...

My real point was playing onstage one time in that band, not being in that band forever.

I've never played with a real B3 and a Leslie, or an R&B horn band. I wouldn't want to do it forever, but at least once.

I've always been in "guitar" bands, or with a dinky keyboard, nothing serious.

Took the words right out of my mouth!

I also would love to play in a rootsy / alt. country band with a pedal steel player
