    The title pretty much sums it up. Small time builders who make really interesting or unique effects, either in terms of sound, or features (i.e. how you use it), or something.

    My top 3:

    Sound: Mid-Fi Electronics "Clari(not)"
    Features: Zvex "Probe" series;
    Blackstone MOSFET

    Nick Greer-not your run of the mill TS clones, a nice selection of fuzzy ODs

    I think Cusack's Tap-A-Whirl and Tap-A-Phase are completely unique. I know that there are other tap modulations out there but his design and build quality is second to none.

    Oh yeah I forgot about the Cusack tap-tempo stuff. I really like that he makes add-on tap tempo for the Zvex stuff (I think that's the same guy), and I wish he would offer them for other effects too.

    Not exactly a small company but Moog makes some pretty original stuff.

    FoxRox Octron is a pretty unique take on 2 pre-existing ideas.
    All that Zvez seek stuff... And the probe series, and I guess pretty much most of his stuff.

    Adrenalinn 3- just got mine. The beat based effects are awesome, and it has tap tempo too. Now if I can just master Sony Acid, I can become a tecno guitarist with the AD3 and ditch the rest of my band!

    The Prescription Electronics "Experience" pedal is pretty unique since it does fuzz, octave and volume swell (like backwards tape-effect) all in one pedal. Actually most of their pedals are pretty unique.

    I am really liking a pedal I just picked up from Logan Sounds called a Wah-Anti-Wah. Pretty unique tone for leads and such.

    Most of our mods and pedals were unique when we came out with them.

    Not anymore!
