I have so many that go all over the place. I've always loved the NOS RCA 6V6 and my Marconi 6V6. I have a late 70's Jan 6L6 that just works great. For non NOS, the JJ KT77 kills

My most often go-to set-up; An Amperex 12ax7, in V1, A Sylvania 12au7 in V2, and a JJ KT-66, for power, smooth, and rich tone. For low volume, change to RCA 6f6, or Sylvania 6f6g. With a Univalve, most anything seems to work well.

It's been a while since I sold my Uni, but I remember my favorite tubes. I also liked the Marconi 6V6 and JJ KT77. Others include the winged "C" EL34 and 6L6 as well as the Tung Sol 6V6. In fact, I tried a lot of NOS tubes and the Tung Sol 6V6 was still one of the best IMO.

Geez Dave, I feel much the same way. My favourites included GE6v6GTY, mullard KT77 and any KT66.

    Who made that tube?

    That's a rhetorical question. Mullard didn't make a KT77; perhaps Genelex/GEC?
