I'm looking for a Univibe but not sure if I need to spend the $300 on the Sweetsound or PE units. I'm considering the Lovepedal Magic Boy or the Sweetsound MoFaux. Can anyone give me their experience with these pedals? Thanks.

Before buying the Mojovibe, I had both the Mofaux and the Magic boy.
IMO, the Mofaux sounded much better.

red witch moon phaser does the best univibe i've ever heard, and a bunch of other stuff too.

Magicboy is more Phaser than Vibe... not really noteworthy of "vibe" status, but inexpensive. I think there are a few pedals you're excluding. Goolge KR Vibe... I think... and Effectrode Vibe...

Get the Mofaux. Absolutely gorgeous vibe sounds, with my set up at least. Makes me smile from ear to ear every time I switch it on. And Bob Sweet is a great guy as well.

Without the photo cell/seed bulb in the circuit, nothing's going to sound like a real univibe. The Magic & the Mo'Fo' sound more like vintage MXR Phase 90s to me (not that there's anything wrong with that), but Danelectro makes a cheezy little orange plastic pedal that contains a micro-miniaturized light bulb & cell array just like the real thing.. Called "Chicken Salad", I paid about 25 bucks for mine - wolfs down batteries in 5 minutes flat & has one of the worst sounding, tone-suckingest buffers I've ever heard, but hey...

The Voodoo Lab also has a minature bulb/cell set-up. More phaser like than msome of the expensive ones, it's another alternative. I'm a fan of the Effectrode, but they are in the higher price range.

Do yourself a favor and just drop the $270 or whatever for the Mojo Vibe. I just got one recently and it does Dark Side of the Moon tones and Jimi stuff to a T. It has such a deep warble and swoosh too it. Well worth the money. I feel like I can almost leave the Mojo on all the time, it sounds so natural.

I own and really enjoy the Magic Boy. I actually just got a Mojo Vibe today and will have to wait til tomorrow to play it but I'm going to do some clips comparing both units. I'll post them in a new thread, maybe that will help.

Please let me know how the two compare. I' haven't heard much about the PE vibe unit but I know Joe Bonamassa uses one.

Foxrox is amazing and VERY versatile.

    Mojo and ultra are classic.

But true the small ones are very phasey.

If you want a univibe tone, just get a univibe and don't mess with other stuff.

    As far as builders:
    KR Megavibe
    Sweetsound
    Fulltone
    Foxrox provibe

Do a search for more info about each builder's product as it's been talked about ad nauseam.

Derek 32999 - I LOVE your choice of guitar and amp. Must sound great. I have a 3-bolt Legacy ( 1992 ) and a ASAT Classic Semi-Hollow that I LOVE. I have tried the Carr Rambler and it was incredible! Takes pedals very well too. I have a 1967 Super Reverb that I play through right now. Considering a Rambler in the future.

    Thanks for your input.

Definitely the Roger Mayer vibes should be mentioned.
I think the Voodoo Vibe Jr is amazing. So far my favorite vibe.

I'm hearing good things about the Uber Vibe also.

Played the Mojo against the Magic Boy. They are very different IMO, but I'm keeping the Magic Boy. It's perfect for what I do.

Any chance you'd have some audio clips to compare the two?
