As many of you who are familiar with me from other forums know, I am somewhat of a pickup connoisseur (over a hundred sets in my little collection as of right now) and I've been compiling a list of guitar pickup companies/winders for several years. I thought I would post it here, with links to their sites, for those interested.

With 328 entries, I believe it is the most inclusive list in existence, but in case there are any notable additions or corrections that I may have overlooked, please post them below and I will add them to subsequent lists as it is updated (I'm not sure how long I will be able to edit this one).

I've asterisked the ones I currently have installed and am happy to entertain questions about any of those.

Which of them do Lipstick Tube (Danelectro size) pickups?

Also, GFS links to Goran at the moment.

    Added... thanks!!!

    Fixed... thanks!!!

I'm pretty much only into Humbuckers and P-90s... so I have no idea about lipsticks other than the one in my Tele sounds pretty good for stock.

Some serious competition in this industry, especially the booteek makers.

Indeed! When I first started compiling the list I thought there were about 50 tops... I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole really went...

    I have a PRS S2 Singlecut.

    It is a 2015.

I am not really happy with those pickups, as I am looking for a tone closer to what Nuno gets with his Bill Lawrence and SD59.

I know this make no sense, but his tone sounds very throwback and vintage to me, although he can push it into hi-gain.

Alternately, I really dig the Les Paul vintage tone.

I have two Tremoverbs and I have a Ceriatone Super Lead 100W on it's way.

I do NOT play with metal tones or even hi-gain, but am a little hotter on the gain side than vintage.

So where does that put me, or what can you suggest?

    Thanks

I've had Motor City Pickups and Bolt Electric pickups, neither of which is on your list.

Good to see Shed on your list. Had a Supernatural set that was outstanding.

My experience with PRS Pickups is pretty limited. I really hated the stock pickups (made in Korea) that came on my '14 Santana SE, so I popped in a set of Santana IIIs (USA made) and I couldn't be happier with them. Pretty much the same with my '11 Ltd. Ed. SE Custom Semi-Hollow... I hated the stock pickups (also made in Korea) and replaced them with a set of Ian Andersons. Those sound really awesome. That is pretty much the extent of my PRS experience.

If you like the way NB's sound I would start with that exact combo... a Bill Lawrence L-500L in the bridge (or an XL if you want something hotter) and a Seymour Duncan 59n in the neck. That sounds like it would be a really nice combination.

Thanks! Motor City Pickups are already on there, but I've added Bolt Electrics...

    Wow...that's quite the list.

What would you say are your top five-ish P90's?
