How much can you spend, and are you talking about a Gibson style or a Fender style (asking for bridge pickup spacing)? Because Zhangbucker has quite a few lower output humbuckers ready to ship on special, all 50mm spacing, starting at like $85USD for international orders.

David, try this guy. He's on the east coast. Very reasonable prices. I have a set of rebuilt Casino pickups. Night and day. Vindham Custom Pickups - http://www.vineham.com/

I, too, am curious about Sucker Punch pups. Can't find much on them at all.

Question: Does anybody know whether I can put pickups with long legs into a PRS SE Zach Myers? I found a killer deal on a set I want, but they have long legs. Thanks

That is a lot. I've never changed a pickup once. I would never have guessed the pickup market was large enough to support so many companies.

Love this project! Gene Reinert at Guru Guitars here in Raleigh makes a nice line and is easy to work with - Guru Pickups

    http://www.guruguitarshop.com/guru_pickups.htm

He wound the sweet and punchy P-90s in this guitar crafted by his Guru partner Howard Critcher:

And I've also owned a set of his strat pickups and liked them. The thing that stood out is that the bridge pickup was very usable and not shrill like I find a lot of bridge position pickups to be. Can't say enough good things about Howard, Gene and Clay at GG.

Some of the guys on the list have stopped winding, but new ones seem to be popping up every day.

Since this is the pace for pickups lets see if you all can help me.

I just bought an Ibanez USA Custom UCGR10 "Ice World" signed by Dan Lawrence.

    http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/UCGR10

It plays like a dream but I'd like to know what pickups it has in it. They are not the "standard" pickups but since this was a custom any pickup could be in it. Here is the picture of the actual guitar:

Anyone know what pickups those are? I would like to change the pickup covers. Anyone have any bright ideas?

I think pickups while hugely important are also vastly over rated in the overall tone of a guitar.
I either like them or don't, and the same pickups will sound vastly different from one guitar to the next.
    Some generalizations...not rules,

Blades vs pole pieces--- both cool IMO. Blades for even sound bending strings, poles for the vintage vibe (my preference).
Lace---I've heard them sound really good, and really not so much...but not my thing.
G&L MFD---don't know what MFD is and have only tried them in an ASAT classic..great tone

I've never heard a stock single coil from a USA Tele or Strat that I didn't like, either overwound or under...... Own both for different applications. Most of the time I think even cheap off brand ones sound good.

I find humbuckers made into single coil size to have mid emphasis and lack single coil treble, full size HB lower mids.

I like full sized humbuckers in the PAF to JB range and usually select Dimarzio for price.

How would you compare the Tim Shaw "PAF" to the original?

I built a little "toy" that can radically alter the tone of any passive pickup: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/cable-length-simulator.1812040/
