Love me some Wags. Such a great guy.
You've probably already found a solution, but I would consider Lollar pickups. He's based out of Tacoma, WA (30 minutes South of Seattle) and builds all kinds of pickups, including Jaguar style pickups. I live near him and a number of years ago did some non-guitar related work for him. He is a really nice person, and the world-wide acceptance of his pickups says volumes about the product he produces. IMHO he should at or near the top of the list.
Thanks for the endorsement. I haven't found a solution yet, but I may take you up on your suggestion!
It makes a big difference in whether licensing that technology is likely to be profitable and therefore worth the cost and effort.

I don't think John Page's Bloodline 1, 2 and 3 have been mentioned here and deserve to be.
Where are the Lollars?
Under Jason Lollar
Wow... that is one extensive list... and I’m happy to be able to mention two new ones...
First out is Mason Electrics which is made by a fellow guitar player from my hometown, Kristiansund. He doesn’t have a web page, but is available on Facebook. I have two custom made “pearly-gate-ish” buckers in my Gibson Les Paul Standard.
Second, but not least Edmire. Also Norwegian but from Tromsø way up north. I have a HSS set one one of my custom built guitars and a P90 set on another. I’m about to install his ToneFactory P90 in my Gibson Les Paul Custom -54 Reissue. So far the best pickups I’ve tried.
Edmire.no and Facebook. His webpage is under reconstruction though...
Good afternoon! I have an ES Les Paul Standard (no F Holes) with MHS pickups in it. I really like the neck pickup, but the bridge pickup sounds honky/mushy/squishy (probably a horrible description). I usually play a 79 Tele with Frailin Blues Special in the bridge. What pickup or pickups would you suggest for a tighter bass, not so much looking for hotter, just more focused and it could be I have the pickup at the wrong height... Thanks!
Ya missed TONE SPECIFIC, & BOOTSTRAP pickups
You could add Q Pickups.
He's also on Reverb.
Believe they're made by Arcane.
Just recently got a 2004 50th anniversary fender strat.. I’m looking for a good 54 strat style set.. any recommendations?
I have a new one for you. Wiggins
Just bought a set of Texas Specials but have not installed them yet.
Stewmac Golden age Parson's street pups got a lot of good reviews. I'm not one to be yanking pups out but these look pretty good. With choices of A2 or A5's at a pair price under that of a single pup from SD or Gibson I think they're worth a look.
BYO pickups, easily the best deal out there. Vintage spec pickups at stupid low prices. A real company with customer service and variety of products, not some sketchy one-man operation.
