So what happened to the scheduled January ship date of the first batch of Metropoulos Metroplex's?

Anybody have one yet, excited to hear from the people that bought them?

According to Cliff at Destroy All Guitars, he's had the first one/prototype in his shop for demos for a while and intends to keep it there. He's the sole channel for purchasing them so give him a call.

Sorry for the delay, I couldn't make the footswitching option work correctly with a 2 button footswitch. At least, not without several more transistors controlling things. So I am using a 3 button footswitch now. Boost, Mode (plexi and modded) and Loop will each have a dedicated foot switch.

This change required a pc board update and a different footswitch jack on the chassis.

The delay is kinda stressful for me, but I hope the added functionality will be worth the wait.

I'm posting updates on our facebook page:

I can't wait for people to get these amps and hear their impressions.

Really looking forward to hearing this great amp up close George.

Can you tell me if when the Variac is engaged, is the BIAS re-adjusted or does the current to the power tubes stay the same as it was in higher voltage mode?

I think there has been a misconception on this as the voltages are dropped but the BIAS of the power tubes still stays the same.

    thanks for all the info!

The tubes are biased hotter in variac mode.

    Super interesting .

Wonder how you do that in the circuit.

My recent talks with Bogner said that in their variac mode the bias remains the same in low power mode in the Helios.

    Good deal George!

    Ha! Indeed.

It's simple to change the bias voltage along with the variac mode.

    ha, cool george!

did you decide on Creamback 75's as the 4x12 and 2x12 speakers?

how does the head sound with M's or v30's?

I really like the Creamback H with this amp, that will be my stock suggestion. But I also LOVED the G12H 55Hz. So woody and toneful. The ASW KTS-60 was even more of the 55Hz thing.

You lose a bit of the chunky low end with M's, but get more open highs. So it's a trade off.

Haven't tried it with Vintage 30's yet.
