    Hi TGP,

I'm making a thread where I'll add pictures of the pedalboard I'm building. I start with making something like Helwegg and Salvage. I'm making this thread because I think you guys like pictures post like me and that you like nice projects.

Here's the first picture my wood maker just sent me. It's a 25" x 16" pedal space sized pedalboard. The principal wood is maple and there's is a wood line (kind of binding) of walnut.

Yeah man, that's awesome! Looking forward to the progress as you go...

Set a goal - maybe to have it completed by the end of the month?

Thank you for your interest! The goal right now is to finish it within 3 weeks uncovered.

After the 3 weeks we want to cover the pedalboard cover box with carbon fiber tolex. I've never work with tolex so hope it'll be no so hard to cover. I wonder if someone knows where I can buy carbon fiber tolex in Canada.

    Nice work !

p.s. I think you might need to build wheels to that board, it looks like it is going to be very heavy when fully loaded.

Awww, geez, I am touched! :)

As for easier to carry, I don't mean rubber feet, which I think is a necessity but some kind of handle or sorts to the side to make it easier to be picked up. Mine is not easy I tell you, need to be careful not to hurt my back when lifting it.

Perhaps mount casters wheels on the side so you can just pull it like a trolley?

How wide is yours? mine is 24", it is manageable by 1 person.

I've seen some websites selling theses. It's more a matter of design. I'll start without it and maybe add it after some gigs if it hurts my back. I too have some problems with my back.

I think it's 27 inch wide with the carrying case.

Oh, I have a couple of suggestions

1 - insert a piece of foam attached to the inside of the lid, this is to prevent any pedals moving incase they come loose, I have one in mine, you can't see it in photos obviously

2 – Have a kind of arm to hold up the board plate when you lift it up for wiring the underside, especially the power cables, much like the arm for a car bonnet. It will make life a lot easier and free up an arm. I guess all you need is a notch underside of the wood or something.

Both of theses suggestion are just perfectly accurate and I've already made them! You just can't see them on theses pictures!

Right now I'm checking with tolex I will use to recover the pedalboard case. Right now my choice is this :

    http://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/t...sh-Style-Black-Levant-Tolex-54-W#.VNpRvfnh2TI

With a 5-6 inch band of country type tolex :

    http://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/t...ojotone-Brown-Western-Tolex-54-W#.VNuw4Pnh2TJ

Never installed tolex but I have looked on how to doit on youtube and seems not easy, but I think I can do it!
