Using an Ernie Ball VPJR as an expression pedal for AxeFX?

Is this possible? I believe I've seen this being done in numerous rig rundowns and videos. I would like to use it running directly into my AxeFX to adjust delay mix levels on the fly if possible. If so, does it require a dual TS - single TSR cable to work properly?
