Anyone unconventional enough to use delay before OD, or anything, for that matter?

I've tried it. It doesn't sound 'unconventional' to me. It sounds like crap.

I've managed to get a cool sound by putting my AD-9 with a very short delay time before an overdrive (Xotic RC Boost). Because the wet signal is nearly - but not exactly - simultaneous with the dry signal, the gain is almost doubled at the front end of the OD and the tone gets slightly chorused. It's a neat tone, but maybe not for everyone.

Sorry -- I wasn't trying to sound pricky...most people know that's not my style. I just have had no luck getting anything remotely musical sounding out of a delay placed early in the signal chain. Quickie post from work, sorry for the unintentionally harsh tone.
